Today on Home Improvement

As I believe I've mentioned previously, I recently bought a kitchen island, a bookcase and a corner bathroom cabinet This has resulted in much increased counter top space in my kitchen, a place to alleviate the overflowing nature of my other bookcase and give me a place to store my bathroom towels.

Today I did some mending of things around the house. My friend Mik gave me some zombie-themed art (basically a cabinet door with graffiti on it) which I hung from the side of the island. This is nice because it provides a 'wall' of sorts which is nice. The bookcase was missing a pin for one corner of the shelves. Fortunately I had a screw which would do the job nicely and, after 10 minutes with my trusty dremel I was able to remove the head of the screw and manufacture my very own shelf-holding-up pin.

Then I made a shopping list.

Then I balanced my checkbook.

Then I caught up with Scott and bought tickets to the Eels show in October.

All in all, it's been a rather productive day.
