I've been on a bit of a craigslist spree these past week or so and am now the proud owner of slightly used kitchen island, a gently used but otherwise quite sturdy bookcase, and a really rather nice corner-cabinet for my bathroom. In short, my apartment has undergone a rather radical transformation in about 10 days. Next up on the apartment sprucing list of todos: head to bed, bath and beyond to get some new towels and sheets, to the hardware store to get a curtain rod so I can put a curtain on the entrance into my back room and one of those nifty rubber covers that keep you from tripping over an extension cord: this is my plan to run power to my kitchen island.
In other news, I recently went to Alembic out in the Haight. It was pretty much fantastic, though I over-indulged in the sazeracs. It was hard not to. They were utterly delicious. I also had an old fashioned while there. Also tasty. Last night my co-worker's band played at The Make Out Room. It was actually pretty awesome. I inherited a Maker's Manhattan, however, after Leyla left the party and, yeah. It was both tasty and entirely too potent.
Saturday is Leyla's birthday. Not sure what's going on but I reckon something will be. (I'm pressing for the BBQ in Golden Gate Park option, but we shall see if the weather cooperates.)
