Hawaii

For some unknown reason it was cheaper for me to fly from San Francisco to Seattle and then to Hawaii than it was to fly from San Francisco directly. But, you know, when it comes to the airline industry, I just prefer not to ask questions. I'm just thankful if me and my luggage get to wherever I'm going.

Anyway, I'm in Hawaii for Vach's wedding. Interesting side note: Vach's flight was at 10:30 AM on Monday from Seattle to Hawaii. But, alas, his plane had a "substantial fuel leak" and was grounded. When I arrived at 12:30 PM he was still there. I got some food from Wendy's and briefly said hello to him and his folks and his betrothed before going to a) eat and b) catch my flight. Which I did. When I landed in Hawaii he had still not gotten on a plane. His flight had better been completely refunded.

My flight was pretty much without incident, just 6 hours of sitting and reading. I need to get another book before my return flight.

And, finally, there's a hurricane/tropical storm outside right now and the hotel is currently without power (thank god for a fully charged laptop and a cellular modem). Yes, indeed, this will be a memorable trip. I've taken some pictures and will post them shortly. Also, on the flight out here I made a list of blog topics I want to cover. Not least of which is why, without fail, when I have a connecting flight I arrive at a terminal that is absolutely the furthest away gate from where my connecting flight is departing from.

I think I'm going to go walk around outside now. I mean, really, when else am I going to be able to be in a tropical storm/hurricane?
