This week in Review (even though it's only Tuesday)

A lot going on and I've been bad at updating things. First things first, I leave for Hawaii on Monday for Vach's wedding. That should be fun. I've never been to Hawaii and I am hoping to (in addition to seeing Vach and Kendra married) see a volcano and a sea tortoise. I have modest goals. There may also be some relaxing on the beach; covered in sunscreen, because my extreme whiteness will not permit me to actually have any real exposure to the sun. Fortunately, I live in San Francisco, so this is rarely an issue.

Next: This Saturday is the second SF Hack-A-Thon. Location is still TBD, but I think we're leaning towards Alana's work place, lured by the promise of free beer and ample wireless connectivity. Alas, we are an easy bunch to please. I've also purchased sfhackathon.org, so... my plan for this saturday is to get that up and running and chronicle our, well, hacking.

Third: It has been pointed out to me (yet again) that I have absolutely no portfolio items up on any of my websites. This has largely been due to laziness on my part and I really need to address that. Also a goal for Saturday, though may bleed into my Hawaii time because, strangely, I like working on my own projects and there's only so much tropical paradise one guy can take, you know?

Fourth: 8/22 (Friday) and 8/25 (Tuesday) will be birthday days for me. Tuesday will largely be for work folks but anyone is welcome to come to either or both. This Saturday, after an afternoon of hacking, I will probably take a tour of some Mission bars that I've been meaning to visit for a long time but have yet to do so, to evaluate them as options for yet another epic birthday bar crawl. Also, I may steal a page from K7's playbook and incorporate tacos into the mix. Mmm, tacos. I should also take a moment to pimp Lindsay's Random Taco Crawl generator.
